C-TEC's Environmental Policy

C-TEC recognises that as a manufacturing company our activities impact on the environment and we are dedicated to reducing this through the development of our products and manufacturing processes.  Our environmental mission is to design and manufacture our products with the minimum effect on the local and global environment.  We aim to achieve this through continually reviewing the following environmental objectives:

  • To comply with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements including The Environmental Protection Act 1995, the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive (2002/95/EC) and the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive (2002/96/EC)
  • To implement and maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS) that complies with ISO140001. Our environmental management working group that consists of senior management, cell leaders and manufacturing technicians will annually review C-TEC’s EMS to ensure that the policy, programmes and procedures continue to reduce environmental impact.
  • To promote environmental awareness, policies and practices among our highly motivated and dedicated employees and to continually improve the skill and expertise of these employees through professional development and training in all environmental issues within the remit of their designated responsibility.
  • Explore opportunities to minimise waste and maximise the efficient use of resources, materials, water, fuel, energy and associated emissions (methane gas).
  • To identify key environmental effects, set targets and through continual improvement endeavour to avoid, reduce or control such effects.
  • To identify and continually improve all processes that impact on the local / global environment.
  • To encourage suppliers and other interested parties to participate in environmental best practice.
  • To promote a purchasing policy which will give preference, as far as is practicable, to those products and services which cause least harm to the environment.
