C-TEC is to release a new, cost-effective range of EN54 part 4 compliant regulated switch-mode power supplies.

Four versions will be available, a 12V 2A version with optional STU mounting plate (for auto-dial applications) and three 24V versions rated at 1.5A, 3A and 5A respectively.

Due for release this July, all four models will offer low current consumption, deep discharge battery protection and a singlepole volt-free changeover relay that switches for any fault condition. They will be fully compliant with EN54-4:1997/A2:2006.

Three LED indicators will be provided on each unit - a supply present indicator, a general fault indicator and a spare indicator for optional connection to third party equipment. Space will be available in each unit for the rated capacity of VRLA batteries.

The BF360-12 12V 2A PSU and the BF360-24 24V 1.5A PSU will be supplied in a tough plastic enclosure which can take batteries of up to 3.1 A Hr. The BF361-3 24V 3A PSU and BF361-5 5A PSU will be supplied in a metal/plastic enclosure which can take batteries up to 7.0Ahr.

Batteries with a larger capacity can be used (each PSU has a link that allows it to charge batteries of between 1 and 3.5 A Hr or 3.5 and 12 A Hr). However, larger batteries will need to be housed in a separate enclosure.
