Star-Trekkers!

C-TEC staff have raised over £500 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice by taking part in the town’s first-ever Star Trekkers Midnight Walk.

Seventeen ‘Pink Ladies’ joined hundreds of others in the night-time 8-mile round trip, pausing at regular intervals for refreshments and to savour the experience of the starlit sky at night.

Said Christine Riley, team leader and one of the event's coordinators (pictured front row, right): “The atmosphere was brilliant from the minute we met up at the JJB Stadium and we really enjoyed walking through the town at night! I would like to thank all our families, friends and work colleagues for sponsoring us. We are proud to have raised money for such a worthwhile cause".

Many people in Wigan have experienced the good work the Hospice carries out and C-TEC staff are no exception. Ann Kelly (pictured fourth left, back row) has good reason to value the services the Hospice provides. Her father’s terminal illness was made more bearable as a result of the Hospice’s help and support. Says Ann: "The services the Hospice provides are wonderful and enabled my father to pass away in the comfort of his own home. Staff visited my father on a regular basis and brought us special mattresses, dressings and medicines which my dad really appreciated".
